Who this is about
Two kinds of people appear in this service, and they are not owed the same thing.
- Customers. People who create an account and use the product. We hold what an account needs to work.
- Business contacts. People at the companies our customers want to sell to. They did not choose to be here. We hold only workplace details, never anything about their private life, and they can have it removed at any time.
What we hold about customers
- Your name, work email address and the company you set up.
- The buyer profile you configure - the trades and countries you sell into.
- What you do in the product: prospects you save, campaigns you build, messages you send and the replies that come back.
- If you connect a mailbox, the address and the credentials needed to send and read mail on your behalf. Passwords are encrypted and are never shown back to you or to us in readable form.
- Basic technical records - sign-in times, and errors the service ran into.
We do not take payment details on this site, and we do not build advertising profiles or sell anything about you to anybody.
What we hold about business contacts
This is workplace information about a business, of the kind a company publishes so that customers can get in touch: the company name, its trade and location, a business address, a business phone number, a business email address and a website.
We check that a contact detail works before a customer is allowed to use it. That check is the point: an address nobody can reach is no use to a salesperson and is a nuisance to whoever ends up receiving the bounce.
We do not collect special category data, we do not track individuals across the web, and we do not attempt to work out anything about somebody’s private life.
Why we are allowed to hold it
For customers, because we need it to provide the service you asked for.
For business contacts, because there is a legitimate interest in business-to-business contact, balanced against the interests of the person whose work address it is. That balance is why the rest of this policy exists: a clear route to object, an immediate stop when somebody objects, and a permanent record of that request so it cannot be undone by a later import.
Being removed
Write to privacy@samoraone.com and ask. You do not have to explain why, and you do not need an account.
When somebody asks to be left alone we keep a one-way fingerprint of the address or number on a suppression list. That is the only way to guarantee the same contact is not added again by a later import, and it means we do not have to keep the original details to honour the request.
If a message reached you from a customer of ours, you can reply to that message and ask them directly. Either route works, and the second one also tells the sender.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask for a copy of what we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to object to us holding it, and to complain to your data protection regulator. We answer these requests within one month, free of charge.
Who else sees it
A small number of suppliers, and only to run the service:
- A cloud database and authentication provider, which stores the data.
- Hosting for the application itself.
- The mail provider you connect, which carries your outbound and inbound mail.
Each is bound to use the data only to provide its service to us. We do not sell data, and we do not share it for anybody else’s marketing.
How long we keep it
Customer data stays while the account is open, and is deleted within 90 days of the account closing unless we are required to keep it longer.
Business contact records are reviewed as they age; a record we can no longer verify is removed from the working list. Suppression records are the deliberate exception - they are kept indefinitely, because forgetting them would mean contacting somebody who asked us not to.
Where it lives
Data is processed on servers operated by our hosting and database providers. Where that involves moving data between countries, it is done under the safeguards those providers offer for international transfers.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will say so on this page and date it. The date at the top is always the current one.
